Psychology

We are fortunate to have limited Psychology services working at KidsInclusive; many Children’s Treatment Centres do not have this service. We reserve this limited resource for the most complex children on our teams, to help us with our overall understanding of the child and what is needed to support them. This is an internal resource only.   The majority of KidsInclusive clients do not receive psychological services.  We do not accept referrals for psychology services alone, and the resource is not intended to determine eligibility for service at other agencies or school boards.

We are always open to supporting/mentoring/coaching other professionals at partner agencies and school boards at their request.

Psychoeducational Services for clients and their families can include:

  • comprehensive assessments of cognitive, academic, social-emotional well-being and overall adaptive functioning
  • consultation services to help understand learning, social-emotional and behavioural needs, as well as the important skills that will help promote a healthy and independent life
  • consultation with other professionals in the hospital and the community to advocate for the needs of our clients.

Psychologists at KidsInclusive are licensed practitioners under the College of Psychologists of Ontario. KidsInclusive is committed to continued education for therapists to ensure they provide quality, up to date services to children and their families. At KidsInclusive we are actively involved in the training of Master and Doctoral Psychology Students, as well as Psychology Interns.
