WHAT ARE SCHOOL BASED REHABILITATION SERVICES (SBRS)?

KidsInclusive offers SBRS to eligible students in publicly funded schools in the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington (KFLA), and Leeds, Lanark & Grenville (LLG) regions. We have 6 school board partners in the regions that we serve. The goal of SBRS is to maximize student safety and accessibility in the school environment, while supporting inclusive participation in the classroom, using evidence-based approaches.

Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy

OT/PT services include consultation for safety, along with self-care, fine & gross motor, and self-regulation skills to support overall function and access to the school curriculum. The introduction of a Tiered model, based on the principals of Universal Design, has improved access to OT services in the primary and special education classrooms. Where possible, students with complex needs have a consistent OT/PT for home and school.

Speech Services

Speech services include direct support for moderate-severe articulation, fluency, voice or resonance disorders. Services offered are dependent on need including: assessment, home program, monitoring, regular or block therapy.
