Teach & Talk with Pictures

Designed for parents/caregivers who are seeking strategies to help improve their child’s communication, use visual tools and manage challenging behaviour.  As a result of participating in this session, parents/caregivers will be able to:

  1. Understand the differences between receptive and expressive communication
  2. Understand how to improve expressive and receptive communication
  3. Use tools such as Visual Schedules, First/Then and Task Strips
  4. Implement strategies to reduce challenging behaviour

Making Connections

This session is in collaboration with KidsInclusive, Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Services, as well as Maltby Centre.

It is designed for parents/caregivers who are seeking strategies to help improve their child’s social communication and social interactions.

As a result of participating in this session, families will be supported to:

  1. Observe their child’s behaviour
  2. Better understand their child’s sensory and self-regulation needs
  3. Encourage their child’s participation in social interactions
  4. Improve their child’s ability to communicate
